I think that this session shed light on some aspects of behaviour management that have not been considered previously. It demonstrated how to initially prevent negative student behaviour, rather than have to deal with it afterwards.
Doing the role play, and watching colleagues act out how they would enter a classroom, was a good way to test the impact of your actions when beginning a lesson. Shouting and picking on individuals are not necessarily the best way to deal with disruptive pupils.
The session almost seemed like a business approach to teaching.
