Welcome to my site

I hope that you enjoy my site.

My name is Rob Salter and I’m a practicing teacher in London UK. I teach Special Needs Children in a mainstream high school but spent most of my career teaching Drama, French and Media Studies to 11-18 year olds. This is my 18th year of teaching.

I developed the techniques in this site when I was responsible for mentoring student teachers.

It seemed to me that some of the performance techniques that I was teaching my Drama students could be immediately applied to developing a convincing teacher persona (see the section on Status). Much of the site deals with the struggles that I had as a beginner, and the techniques that I found (many from fields seemingly ‘unrelated’ to teaching) that helped me to overcome my difficulties.

As I was developing the site, I began training student teachers again and realized that there was a huge need for an interactive web 2.0 behavior management training website. This is what I have tried to create. At the moment there are a number of pages on the site with invitations to ‘accelerate your learning’ and feedback, there are also pages on Facebook where you can comment, discuss and rate each section on the site. There is a Twitter page where you can ask questions in real time and an area on You Tube where you can upload video or screen casts.

This site also creates an income for me. If you would like to learn more about how I created it and are interested in web business in general, then I have good news! Click Here for an introduction to Solo Build It.

I also offer training courses with my training partner, Ross Styles. For booking enquiries, simply fill out the form below.
